About
The Animals is a short film that explores obsession, nature, and the doppelgänger through dark comedy and magical realism.
The film will be shot on location on the streets of LA's Chinatown and in the forests of Topanga in June, 2011. The film is scheduled to be released in Fall, 2011.

Meredith Ries (production design)
WORK: Meredith is a New York-based designer and artisan. Her props credits include Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (The Public Theater), The Merchant of Venice (The Public Theater/ Shakespeare in the Park), and An Oresteia (Classic Stage Company). She has also worked as a prop master with Second Stage Theater, Lincoln Center Theater, New York Theater Workshop, and Theater for a New Audience, among others. She was assistant set designer for Elevator Repair Service’s production of The Sound and The Fury at New York Theater Workshop and REDCAT, and for Private Lives at Two River Theater Festival. She has worked as a set designer with companies such as Target Margin Theater and Polybe and Seats in New York, and Chicago Fusion Theater. She is currently completing an MFA in set design at the Yale School of Drama.
HISTORY: The Animals is her fourth collaboration with writer Caitlin Doughty, and her second collaboration with director Angeline Gragasin.
Meredith lives and works in New York City.
