The Animals is a short film that explores obsession, nature, and the doppelgänger through dark comedy and magical realism.

The film will be shot on location on the streets of LA's Chinatown and in the forests of Topanga in June, 2011. The film is scheduled to be released in Fall, 2011.

WORK: Abby is a costume designer living and working in New York City. Her recent film work includes costume assistance on It’s Kind of a Funny Story, The Amazing Spider-Man, and James Franco’s biopic of the late poet Hart Crane, The Broken Tower . She has assisted on television shows such as Pan Am, premiering this fall on ABC, Damages and Law & Order: SVU. She is also active in the world of theater and opera, recently assistant designing A House in Bali (BAM NextWave Festival) and Den Norske Opera and Ballett’s production of The Rape of Lucretia. Her own design projects have ranged from Japanese Butoh dance (Daphne, NYC 2007 Cave Butoh Festival) to puppet crimedrama (Comedy Central’s Web Series: The Fuzz) to ridiculous reenactments of the history of fantasy baseball (ESPN’s Silly Little Game). Abby has also styled music videos for the incredible performance artist, Reggie Watts, and Philadelphia hip-hop duo, Chiddy Bang.

HISTORY: The Animals is her first collaboration with Gragasin, Ries, Doughty, Zielke, and Wolther.

Abby lives and works in New York City.
